Irgendwann im Frühjahr bin ich in einem Blog über dieses Online-Magazin gestolpert. Es ist wunderschön anzuschauen und die Herbstausgabe, die ich gerade gelesen hat, lässt mir das Wasser im Mund zusammen laufen: enthalten ist ein Rezept für eine leckere Tomatensoße.

Wunderschöne Tage mit abwechlungsreichem Programm, durchwachsenem Wetter, aber dafür mit Tante, Großeltern und Freunden sind vorüber. Der Alltag kehrt langsam zurück, Berge an Wäsche wollen gewaschen, Schlafsäcke, Isomatten und Zelt verräumt und die Kinder in der letzten Ferienwoche beschäftigt werden. Außerdem warten etwa 500 Fotos auf ihre Bearbeitung. Auch hierher möchte ich langsam wieder zurückkehren.

Wonderful days with varying highlights, mixed weather, yet with aunt, grandparents and friends have passed. Everydaylife is slowly coming back, loads of laundry need to be taken care of and there are about 500 photos that want to be sorted and edited. Still, there is one week left before kindergarten starts again. So this will be a slow return.

Vor unserem Urlaub werden gerade die ganzen angefangenen Projekte fertiggestellt: dies hier ist ein Kissenbezug für Opa R. Der Geburtstag war zwar schon im Juli, aber besser spät als nie.

Das Zentrum sind zwei applizierte Hände, außen herum habe ich Reste eines anderen Projektes verarbeitet. Die Namen der Jungs sind gestempelt, geschlossen wird das Kissen mit einem einfachen Hotelverschluß.

Jetzt hoffen wir, dass Opa R. sich über unser Geburtstagsgeschenk freut, wenn er es heute in seinem Briefkasten hat.

Before we leave for our vacation there are some UFOs to be finished: this is a pillow case for grandpa R. His birthday has been way back when but I guess, this present was worth the wait.

Please keep your fingers crossed that grandpa R. will he happy finding this little present in his post box today.

We have been doing vierzweieins for one month now and it turned out to be much fun. It is quite interesting to see the different interpretations of the theme right next to each other. Last weeks topic was brothers and sisters.

Heute habe ich nach dem Frühstück begonnen und vor einer halben Stunde aufgehört. Ich habe den ganzen Tag (mit kleinen Unterbrechungen) genäht, während mein Mann Raumschiffe gebaut, Stinkewindeln entfernt und als Dinosaurier in der Regentonne gebadet hat.

VIELEN DANK!

Ich habe zwei Körbe fertiggestellt, einen Turnbeutel und einen Kissenbezug kurz vor die Vollendung gebracht. Beide Projekte sind nun so weit fortgeschritten, dass ich sie sicher in der kommenden Woche noch beenden kann. Ich bin so zufrieden, stolz und freu mich einfach - insbesondere natürlich über meinen tollen Mann.

Today I started after breakfast and stopped half an hour ago. I spent my entire day sewing (with some small interruptions), while hubby built Lego starships, changed smelly diapers and bathed in the rain barrel pretending to be a dinosaur.

I finished two baskets and brought a drawstring bag and a pillow case almost to a finish. Both projects are easily finished during the coming week. I feel great and content and am just so happy - especially about my wonderful husband.

Wir freuen uns schon sehr auf unseren Urlaub. Um Linus die lange Wartezeit etwas zu verdeutlichen, habe ich nach der zigsten Frage diese Karte gemacht. Ich bin völlig erstaunt über die Wirkung: zunächst war die Karte eher uninteressant, dann fiel ihm dieses tolle Muster auf. Die Fragen nach dem Abfahrtstag wurden weniger und dafür nahm das tägliche Abkreuzen einen wichtigen Raum ein. Vor kurzem übernahm Linus die Kreuzelei - was für geniale Kreuze dabei entstehen! Seit gestern werden die verbliebenen Tage gezählt - noch ein kleiner Lerneffekt. 7 Felder sind noch frei.

We are already looking forward to our vacation. To visualize the long time till we actually leave, I made this little card for Linus. I am very astonished at its effect: in the beginning the card was simply acknowledged, then he noticed the wonderful structure. The questions when we will finally be leaving started to decrease and ticking off each day took a place as a little daily ritual. A couple of days ago Linus started to tick off the days by himself - it is so much fun watching him concentrate on the small task. Yesterday he began counting the remaining days - another learning effect. Seven boxes are still open.

Gerade habe ich meine erste Stiftrolle fertiggestellt. Einige Kleinigkeiten sind noch verbesserungswürdig, aber im Großen und Ganzen bin ich zufrieden. Insbesondere weil sich diese Rollen ja als Geschenk nahezu aufdrängen.

Gearbeitet habe ich nach dieser Anleitung von Cindy. Die Stoffe sind allesamt von IKEA und gefüttert ist das ganze mit einer aufbügelbaren Vlieseinlage (H 630), der Preis steht in keinem Verhältnis zur Leistung, so dass ich bei meiner nächsten sicher wieder auf einen Putzlappen vom Discounter zurückgreifen werde.

I just finished this pencil roll. Some bits still need to be improved but I am quite content with the outcome. Especially since they are very easy to sew and make the perfect gift for a birthday present.

I used this tutorial by Cindy. All of the fabric is from IKEA, I used H 630 for the lining but I am not convinced, I guess, I’ll go back to the plain old wash cloth from the discounter.
